About

Carofano Opticians of New Haven has been serving the community for over 60 years. Our founder James ‘Jimmy’ Carofano began his optical career after serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Before starting Carofano Opticians in 1955, he began his career making glasses at Michaels Jewelers in Downtown New Haven.

In September 1969, Robert ‘Bob’ Richards was asked by Jimmy to become a partner at Carofano Opticians of New Haven, where he would then continue to serve the community for over 50 years until his retirement in 2020.

Today, Carofano Opticians of New Haven prides itself on curating beautiful, well-crafted eyewear, continuing our dedication to providing the community high-quality service for all of your vision needs.
